Shortly after entering the Yukon, we came to the town of Watson Lake, famous for it's Sign Post Forest.
Begun in 1942 by a homesick G.I. working on the highway construction, the original sign has now grown to a forest of over 61,000 signs.
A trip to the airport revealed photos of the rich aviation history of this area and its' importance in World War II. The terminal and maintenance building are original.
Tonight we are camped on Watson Lake in a Government camp using the free wood they provide for our dinner fire while our reporter and photographer work on our blog.
