The Richardson Highway

We are up early this morning and Judy spots moose right outside our camper. This very remote area in the little visited Wrangell- St. Elias National Park has lots of wildlife.

The steadily rotating fish wheels on the Copper River are empty as fishermen wait for the salmon to arrive.

We turn South in the Chugach Mountains and take the Richardson Highway to Valdez, stopping at the Worthington Glacier, Bridal Veil Falls and an old RR tunnel that was hand cut into the solid rock and never completed.

The scenery is once again spectacular as we go through Thompson pass.

High in the Chugach Mountains we find a wonderful spot to camp with top-of-the-world views but it's to early to stop for the night.
