Heading West out of San Antonio, we stopped for a look at Seminole Canyon State Park.
We have been this way a number of times before, but this is new territory for Jim and Lynnae.
and after a short climb one is rewarded with a nice panoramic view and some of the oldest pictographs in North America.
Burn marks on the cave ceiling remain from Early American cooking and heating fires.
The depressions in this stone are left after many years of grinding grain.
More information about this park is found at: www.tpwd.state.tx.us/state-parks/seminole-canyon/
These limestone walls along the Lower Pecos River provided a home and a place to leave a lasting artistic impression.
