Wildlife At The Chain O’ Lakes State Park

 
Several breeding pairs of Sandhill Cranes come back to the park every year and are among the many species of wildlife that live in or visit the park.

The park is on the Mississippi Flyway and attracts the Canadian Geese above and the ducks below.

                                This little guy made his home in a Bird house


The River Otter, rarely seen in Illinois, is making a comeback and is occasionally seen in our park.  This one was hit by a car and is now mounted in our main lodge.
