Fairbanks
Fairbanks is a friendly little city in the Tanana Valley interior of Alaska. Founded by a gold rush early in the 20th century, to the north , and not far away, is the Arctic-- to the south is the Alaska mountain range. Indian and Eskimo villages are scattered from the Yukon River north to the Arctic Ocean.
The Chena River provides a beautiful park-like setting--
--for the walking and bike path.
